Cleaner Kitchen – Cleaner Body

A study by researchers at Cornell University found that women who have a messy kitchen with stuff everywhere, eat twice as many cookies as those who have cleaner, more orderly kitchens.

Why?

Researchers believe that this is because the chaos of a messy kitchen may represent and encourage a lack of self control. It can also be a more stressful environment. Chaos and stress both have been proven to increase your appetite, leading to consuming more calories than you should. That’s bad news for your waistline!

If you want to avoid snacking, or at least cut back on it, consider the impact your home has on your mental state.  Cleaning up your kitchen may help you control your eating habits better. You can also try adopting a mind set that’s more in self control. Even if you don’t think this will work, why not try? It’s worth a shot, plus your kitchen will at least be tidier!
