Under Eye FILLER Treatment BURLINGTON

If you struggle with the dislike of your under eye appearance, you are most certainly not alone. Many people typically prefer to have a brighter under eye area, and dark circles can often be associated as a false sign of poor sleep habits and stress. People often try to cover them with concealer, creams and other types of products, but this can only go so far as to conceal some colour, and hollowness and shadows are often nearly impossible to conceal.

These issues can be unpleasant for individuals of all ages. The great news is that there’s a safe, non-surgical way to correct them. If you’re tired of trying to conceal a false tiredness appearance, or just want a boost in your confidence, under eye dermal filler can be beneficial. Dermal filler under eye can create natural-looking enhancements that make you look and feel refreshed and youthful.

Under eye fillers are a safe alternative to surgery that yields results that can be just as successful. The treatment is significantly more affordable, the results are instantaneous and there is no downtime, which allows patients to avoid putting a hold on their busy lives.

Benefits of Under Eye Filler:

  • Make eyes look brighter, refreshed and more awake by adding volume to hollow areas under the eyes
  • Tighten up any sagging skin and smoothing creases under the eyes through the addition of volume
  • Lighten dark circles under the eyes by stimulating the production of collagen and blood flow in the area

Under Eye Filler Treatment BURLINGTON

Once our doctor has deemed the treatment to be safe for you, you will meet with one of our expert medical injectors. They’ll examine your facial structure and skin type. They will also talk to you about your goals and expectations of your treatment. This can take anywhere from 10 – 30 minutes depending on the areas you are looking to treat and the extent of your concerns. Every assessment is personalized to fit your needs.

A topical numbing cream may be applied for local anesthetic in order to increase your comfort, however, this isn’t always necessary. Juvéderm® already has an ingredient in it designed to help you: lidocaine. Lidocaine provides temporary numbing of the treated area at the time of your injection, making any additional anesthesia unnecessary.

The areas to be treated will be marked. Then, a series of Juvéderm® injections are made in the area(s). A sterile syringe and fine needle that has been pre-packaged by the manufacturer is used. Once injected, your injector may massage the areas lightly to adjust the placement of the product. It’s important to note that you should not do this yourself at home, even if you see any lumps or bumps that are taking away from your desired results.

If there are any Juvéderm® results that you do not like, we will be able to fix them during your follow up, two weeks after your initial treatment. By that time, any initial swelling will be gone, making it easier to assess and deal with irregular contours that require adjusting.

Juvéderm

Juvéderm® is used to address wrinkles, facial contours, enhance the size and shape of the lips and can even smooth our scars and indentations. Juvéderm® plumps up the skin to fill out those unwanted wrinkles, creases, and noticeable hollows. The treatment can also help modify facial contours that you want reshaped or more defined

Teosyal Redensity II

Traditional hyaluronic acid fillers are typically injected into static areas of the face to accentuate contour or facial features, but Teosyal® products from the Swiss laboratory TEOXANE® are designed with the idea that your face is anything but static. Teosyal® Filler can plump lips and address wrinkles, under-eye hollows and scars.

Redensity II has been developed specifically for the treatment of dark circles due to depression and / or hyperpigmentation. The undereye area has always been considered a difficult area to treat: both for its intrinsic nature and due to the difficulty in finding materials that are less hydrophilic. Teosyal Redensity II can be used safely to achieve good results in this challenging area. It is the best product TEOXANE has for refreshing the circles under the eyes without looking over-filled. A study done by Clarion Medical Technologies showed that 99% of patients who received Redensity II filler injections to the tear trough saw an aesthetic improvement within one month post-treatment.

This HA filler is a skin revitalizer that restores hydration, luminosity, & tone, and is perfectly suited for the thin and sensitive skin around the eyes or tear trough area. Redensity II is also very effective in slowing down the appearance of aging as it smooths out lines and wrinkles as well as brightens and rejuvenates the skin.

Learn More About UNDER EYE FILLERS

Are you sick and tired of people asking if you’re tired all the time, even when you get plenty of sleep? There’s a good chance you struggle with dark under-eye circles, sagging skin, or a hollow look under and surrounding your eyes – and that you’re looking for a way to get rid of them.

Many people naturally have more prominent and noticeable dark areas and hollowness under their eyes than others. There’s a vast variety of reasons that you may have them. Under eye circles, hollowness, and bags are common features that nearly everyone will get and experience at some point through aging, but they can also appear because of allergies, exhaustion, or plain and simply genetics.

So many things can contribute to these unwanted issues, including aging, dehydration, UV ray exposure, and a naturally deep tear trough as a result of genetics. A deep tear trough can create the illusion of a shadow, darkening the area below the eye and prematurely ages the appearance of the individual.

Additionally, with time, the natural aging process leads to less collagen production and a loss of volume in the face. This simultaneously can lead to tissue flaccidity in the area below the eyes, which can make the tear trough area appear more defined with prominent shadows.

Other Facial Areas That Can Be Treated with Fillers:

Lip Fillers

Lips feature an independent and sophisticated fibrous muscular structure that allows fine manipulation and extensive movement. This complex of muscles is called the orbiscularis oris and is found only around the mouth. The orbiscularis oris, also known as a sphincter muscle, allows us to form the correct expressions to form a smile and frown, to talk and laugh, as well as to eat and sip. Juvéderm® for lips can be used to fill in some of these smile or frown lines.

As we age, our lips naturally begin to lose the elasticity and plumpness that we associate with youth.  Juvéderm® is one of the most popular methods used by medical professionals to restore lips to a youthful, fuller appearance. After lips have begun to lose their shape, Juvéderm® is able to help restore plumpness and elasticity through the properties of its main component, hyaluronic acid.

Once it has been injected, the hyaluronic acid integrates with natural tissues and enhances the fat content of a patient’s lips. Regular follow-up injections allow you to maintain plumper lips and reduce the appearance of aging.

Filler for Cheeks

Our cheeks, just like the rest of us, are affected by age. As we get older, our skin begins to lose the elastin, collagen, natural fats and ability to retain moisture that is responsible for smooth, full and firm skin. Our cheeks can succumb to these problems faster than the rest of us. This is problematic because the cheeks are such a prominent part of our faces so damage to them greatly effects the general appearance of our face.

Juvéderm® works to make cheeks look younger by giving back what time and nature have taken away. The injectable Juvéderm® Filler integrates with the cheek’s skin tissue on a cellular basis to reverse the damage and promote a healthier, more youthful look.

The two major characteristics of aging cheeks — gauntness and wrinkling — can be resolved by Juvéderm®. Patients that undergo treatments with the filler soon begin to see volume added to the skin of the cheeks, a plumping up of the skin and a pleasant reduction to a hollow or gaunt appearance. Juvéderm® patients leave their treatment with cheeks that have been restored to their proper look.

Filler for A DEFINED JAWLINE

As we age, the bone volume in our jaw and chin begin to decrease. We lose definition, structure, and support over time, with genetics playing a role. Some people naturally have a weaker jawline or chin. With Juvéderm® Volux we now have the ability to achieve incredible results in the lower face.

Volux is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler which has been specifically designed for use in the chin and jawline. It can be used to improve facial harmony by strengthening the jawline and chin, to soften jowls, improve double chins, or to give a stronger and more defined jawline.

Genetically, some people have a small or weak jawbone or chin, whereas other lose volume through the ageing process. As we age, we lose bone in our skull – our cheeks deflate which mean that facial fat drops downwards with gravity. The thick hyaluronic gel in Juvéderm® Volux adds volume, structure, and support in the jawline and chin to create a more defined, chiseled, and sculpted jawline within a matter of minutes.

Jawline fillers for men can:

  • Create a chiselled, square-looking jawline
  • Improve the structure of the chin
  • Frame and underpin the face
  • Reduce the effects of age-related volume loss
  • Improve the appearance of double chins
  • Bulk out weak, slim or narrow jawlines
  • Improve jawline strength and structure
  • Frame and underpin the face

Dark Circles Under Eyes

Dark circles under the lower eyelids are common in both men and women. Often accompanied by bags, dark circles can make you appear older than you are. To make matters worse, they can be difficult to get rid of. For the longest time, we didn’t have many options aside from surgery (which is invasive and dangerous due to the sensitivity of the area and the proximity to the eye) and skincare (which can make incremental improvements if used daily)

Though they can affect anyone, dark circles are most common in people who:

  • Are elderly
  • Have a genetic predisposition to this condition
  • Have darker skin tones and are prone to hyperpigmentation around the eye area

There are a variety of different reasons that dark circles appear but, contrary to popular belief, fatigue isn’t actually one of the main causes. Most likely there is a loss of volume – fat and collagen – under the eyes that causes a depression or hollowness in the tear trough area. The elevated area around the depression casts a shadow, leading to a sunken look and thinner skin, and creating the appearance of a “dark circle”. Tear troughs are treated with an injection of hyaluronic acid fillers to re-plump the area and push the skin up and away from the blood vessels.

How Dermal Under Eye Filler Works

Dermal injections use hyaluronan to address wrinkles, facial contours, enhance features and can even smooth our scars and indentations. Under eye filler works to counteract the loss of volume in the cheek or mid face. These results can last up to a year, but you are able to receive periodic treatments to touch-up and maintain your results as long as you want.

Dermal fillers can restore fats and elasticity that is lost, not just in skin, but also in lip tissue. For aging, the goal of our injectors is to simply replace the amount of HA in your skin that has been lost with every passing year.

Another great effect of a Juvéderm® injection is that it improves the overall moisture levels in your skin, something that older patients can definitely appreciate. Higher moisture levels means that your complexion will look more vibrant and healthier as well.

How Long Do Under Eye Fillers Last?

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers usually last between 9-12 months, depending on the product used and your individual metabolism of the filler.  As we talk, smile, drink and eat throughout the day, our lips can move a lot!

What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic acid (otherwise called hyaluronan or hyaluronate) is a naturally occurring property of the human body known as a glycosaminoglycan. It can be found throughout the average person in skin, cartilage, muscles and tendons. As it is found throughout the body, hyaluronic acid has long been of interest to cosmetic medical doctors.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is an essential component that forms the healthy structure of our skin. When we’re young, HA levels in our skin are relatively high, which is one reason why our skin is supple and elastic. However, with age and exposure to the damaging elements of our environment (particularly UV rays from the sun), our body produces less and less hyaluronic acid. The amount of HA in our skin disintegrates, combined with a decrease in collagen and elastin fibers causes the most notable signs of aging develop: wrinkles and volume loss.

In a similar manner to its medical uses, hyaluronic acid is also appropriate for skincare products and is commonly found within them.

FAQ's About Under Eye FILLERS

Injectable filler, sometimes called dermal filler, is a type of substance designed to be injected into the skin at different depths to add volume and fullness, help fill in facial wrinkles, provide facial volume, and augment facial features: restoring a smoother appearance.

Several types of fillers use some form of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar compound found in some fluids and tissues in the body that add plumpness to the skin, and keep the body hydrated.

Juvéderm is one such line of dermal fillers. It contains both water and hyaluronic acid to create a smooth, gel-like product that plumps up your skin. Each product in the Juvéderm line features different bonding and concentrations of hyaluronic acid to target specific problems when injected into different areas and depths.

You may expect to pay an average of $500 to $600 or more for each syringe. Depending on your goals, you may need multiple syringes in one session. Some providers suggest two syringes in one treatment. The cost of Juvéderm varies widely.

Juvéderm procedures aren’t complicated or risky but patients — especially first-time patients — should know what to expect when they are preparing for their treatment. It’s easier to go into your treatment with confidence (and without any anxiety) if you understand just how easy recovery is and exactly what it consists of.

After you’ve completed your treatment, you’ll be free to leave and either return to your normal schedule or go home to wait out a quick recovery. You will be advised that strenuous exercise, alcohol consumption and excessive heat or sun exposure be avoided for a full day following the procedure. It’s also recommended not to touch, rub or massage the treatment site when possible in order to let the body recover from the injection as quickly as possible. Do not to massage or rub the treated area and be especially gentle with it for 24 hours after your treatment.

You will be informed about which topical products to avoid (make-up, lotions, etc.) and the length of time necessary. In most cases patients are only asked to stop using these products for a short period of time (one or two days) but it’s important to ask in order to avoid any potential complications that can arise.

As very small needles are used, there is only minimal discomfort and no downtime. An assessment of the results is made after 10 days to determine if more treatments are necessary.

Each Juvéderm dermal filler syringe contains 1ml of product. A small portion of this is lidocaine – only about .20ml. A single syringe cannot be shared between two patients because that would increase your risk of infection.

Skin Vitality Medical offers of two of the most common fillers—Juvederm and Restylane—which are both made with hyaluronic acid. These hyaluronic acid fillers are the most common for treating the under-eye area, since it’s compatible with the very thin and delicate tissue in this part of the face.

Common side effects of Juvéderm — which can be immediate, but usually clear within 7 to 14 days — include injection site reactions such as:

  • Tenderness
  • Swelling
  • Firmness
  • Lumps/Bumps
  • Bruising
  • Minor Pain
  • Redness
  • Itching

The pain of an under-eye filler is usually manageable and lasts for only a few minutes. You’ll feel pressure around the eye area which can be unsettling, but the pain itself is minimal.

You can go home once the treatment is done. You’ll likely have some swelling, bruising, and redness. These side effects usually improve after 48 to 72 hours.

The ideal Juvéderm patient is an adult who is in good physical and mental health and has realistic expectations for what the product can accomplish. Juvéderm is meant for treating moderate or severe wrinkles and folds on the skin of the face for natural facial rejuvenation. It also provides excellent results in facial contour reshaping and lip augmentation.

This product has been medically researched at length on patients of varying skin types and skin shades. Studies prove that Juvéderm® is safe and effective whatever type or shade of skin you have. However, if you have particularly sensitive skin, the extent of bruising and swelling may be a little more and last a little longer.

This filler may also be administered in conjunction with other anti-aging injections. A good patient should be financially stable (being comfortable enough to pay for Juvéderm® treatments) and willing to undergo ongoing sessions in order to maintain their appearance. Since Juvederm® is composed of natural ingredients, it absorbs back into the body over time (usually a period of several months to over a year) and must be reapplied in order to stay visible. An ideal candidate understands the need for this and isn’t put off by returning to their clinic for annual, recurring injections to maintain ideal results, however you may experience the need for less treatments.

Recovery time is minimal. But, people are advised to avoid strenuous activity, sun exposure, wearing makeup, and consuming alcohol for at least 24 hours post treatment.

  • Avoid applying makeup to the area for 12 hours after injection. When you do apply makeup, use a very light touch.
  • Avoid excessive manipulation or massaging of the area.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours following injection.
Avoid consuming alcoholic beverages for 24 hours following the injection to reduce bruising.
  • Sleep on your back. Avoid sleeping on your front or side for as long as possible.
Try to avoid making facial expressions or movements that use or move the injected areas for 2 days after treatment.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or UV light for 2 weeks after the injection.
Avoid extreme heat or cold, including saunas or hot tubs for 2 weeks after the injection. You may apply a cool cloth to the treated area, but avoid ice.
  • Report any redness and/or visible swelling that persists for more than 1 week, or any other symptoms that cause concern, to the clinic as soon as possible, particularly if you are concerned about infection.

Patients should avoid using make-up or other skincare products for at least the first four hours following the treatment. Patients should also avoid exercise and alcohol for two days and are advised to stay out of extreme heat (e.g. saunas, sun beds, tanning) or coldness for two weeks.

Filler can take up to two weeks to fully settle.

If you are unhappy with your results after this time, please make a follow-up appointment at a Skin Vitality Medical Clinic closest to you. In most cases, you can usually have it adjusted or dissolved altogether if you wish.

Dermal fillers can be composed of a variety of substances, some naturally occurring and some synthetic. One of the most common compounds used in dermal fillers is hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a naturally occurring substance found in our skin, and it plays a major role in keeping skin hydrated and volumized. It also stimulates the production of the connective tissue that plumps the skin (collagen). As you get older, the production of hyaluronic acid and collagen decreases, which in turn increases the appearance of sagging and wrinkling of the facial skin.

One of the main benefits of HA filler is the natural appearance when injected. Volumizing using this type of filler helps plump up your skin to fill out unwanted wrinkles, creases and noticeable hollows. This same effect is what also helps to modify facial contours that you want reshaped or more defined, such as your cheeks, nose, jawline, or chin.

Most notice the effects of Juvéderm right away, or after the swelling reduces. While individual results can vary, results typically last between six months and two years. The long-term results can also vary between formulas.

Your initial appearance after treatment with any dermal filler may include:

An “overfilled” appearance to treated areas
Swelling or bruising
Temporary numbness or redness
Palpable lumps or hard areas at the injection sites

Most conditions can be alleviated with topical icing and massage, and will improve within a matter of hours or just a few days.

Several factors can influence dermal filler longevity, including:

  • Where the filler is used on your face
  • How much is injected
  • The speed at which your body metabolizes the filler material

People who want Juvéderm touch-up treatments usually have them every six to 12 months. However, modifications to existing Filler injections from Skin Vitality Medical need to wait 2 weeks for the results to take full effect before modifying the area.
