The trend in cosmetic medicine is clear: patients want something that will improve their appearance, without the downtime or risks associated with surgery. We understand this, which is why we specialize in non-surgical cosmetic treatments!

Doctors have published a study examining the goals and expectations of patients seeking minimally invasive cosmetic procedures, such as BOTOX, Juvéderm and CoolSculpting. The study strives to define who wants these treatments, and why.

A focus on aging

It was found that of the participating patients, aging was a huge issue and that the “overwhelming majority” believed that to fight the signs of aging, skin care is critical. As part of their regular regimen, most participants used a combination of skincare treatments, with cosmeceuticals being the most common. Chemical peels came in second, while laser based technologies were less common. 86% of participants said that they applied sunscreen daily to protect their skin from UV exposure.

The areas most frequently targeted are the following:

Eyes (78.8%)
Cheeks (28.1%)
Lips (15.4%)
Nose (7%)
Neck (21.1%)

The following are the most common reasons why participants chose to pursue treatment:

Friends (27.8%)
For professional reasons (27.8%)
Spouses (2.7%)
Children (1.4%)
