Essential Lip Care: Exfoliation

Exfoliation is a great way to get rid of dirt, grime and those dead skin cells that clog your pores and mar your complexion. If you don’t exfoliate, you may be suffocating your pores, which can lead to not so pretty breakouts, roughness and other skin woes.

So, as a skincare savvy person like yourself, you know that exfoliation is an essential part of your beauty regimen. But are you doing it for your lips, too?

To keep your kisser as smooth as the rest of your face, don’t forget to gently exfoliate them when necessary as well. You don’t need to do it as often as the rest of your face because the skin here is very delicate. Remove any flakes and dirt at the end of the day by gently scrubbing the lips in a circular motion with a soft bristled toothbrush topped with a bit of balm or other lip cream. You can also use a simple concoction of sugar and olive oil as well, if you want a more natural approach. The sugar rubs away the dirt, and the oil will keep your lips supple and hydrated.

And now you’re ready to get romantic!
