Fraxel Acne Scar Removal for Men Toronto, Canada

SKIN VITALITY PROUDLY SERVING CANADIANS SINCE 1992

Fraxel® laser is a non-surgical fractional laser resurfacing treatment for men that targets acne scars, surgical scars, wrinkles, sun damage, melasma and pigmentation. As a Health Canada–approved procedure, it revitalizes skin tone and texture for a smoother, fresher, more youthful look—without surgery and with predictable Fraxel results.

Fraxel Laser for Men in Ontario – Acne Scar Removal & Skin Resurfacing

Fraxel laser treatment uses microscopic laser columns to stimulate collagen and remodel damaged skin. It improves acne scars, surgical scars, wrinkles and fine lines, and corrects age spots and uneven pigmentation while refining overall texture.

Fraxel® is frequently chosen for scar removal—including deep acne scarring—and for texture, tone and under-eye lines. By promoting collagen, it softens lines and helps blend colour irregularities such as sun spots and melasma.

Thanks to fractional photothermolysis, Fraxel treats only a fraction of the skin at a time, leaving surrounding tissue intact for faster recovery and less downtime.

One of the main reasons that Fraxel Skin Resurfacing is recommended for so many skin correct procedures is due to another of its primary benefits: an unparalleled level of accuracy that results in minimal pain and speedy recovery times.

The advanced fractional photo thermolysis system is able to target only problem tissue without accidentally causing injury to the surrounding area. This means that a patients’ skin heals extremely quickly and allows them to return to their normal schedule soon after their procedure is completed.

Acne Scar Removal for Men

Fraxel targets scar tissue while sparing surrounding skin, helping smooth ice-pick, boxcar and rolling scars. Treatments are typically well-tolerated with topical numbing.

On the day of your appointment you will arrive at the aesthetic medical practice you’ve chosen and be directed to the treatment area. A technician, nurse or doctor will use a laser hand-piece to prepare the treatment site.

The clinic will also use a specialized cooling device on this area as well. The hand-piece mentioned before will then be applied, directing laser energy at the targeted skin.

The procedure itself is essentially painless. Patients will feel some gentle heat along with prickling while the lasers do their work. If sensitive areas of the face are being targeted, anesthetic drops or other topical numbing agents may be used in order to minimize any discomfort.

Fraxel Recovery: Day-by-Day (typical)

  • Days 2–3: Bronzing/peppering; mild swelling possible.

  • Days 4–7: Flaking as new skin emerges.

  • Weeks 2–4+: Texture and tone steadily improve.

Fraxel Re:Pair vs Fraxel Re:Store

There are two types of Fraxel technologies. One is non-ablative and the other is ablative.

  • Ablative (Fraxel Re:Pair): Removes surface tissue for deeper lines and etched scars; longer downtime.

  • Non-ablative (Fraxel Re:Store): Heats below the surface to stimulate collagen; less downtime with cumulative results.

What is Ablative Fraxel?

Ablative describes the surgical removal of tissue. Therefore, an ablative laser is one that removes the skin (and leaves open wounds). Fraxel Re:Pair is an ablative laser. Generally speaking, ablative lasers are used for complexion irregularities that require a more dramatic improvement. Due to its invasiveness, the recovery period may be lengthier.

What is Non-Ablative Fraxel?

A non-ablative laser is one that does not remove tissue. It works by producing a wound healing response at the deeper layers of your skin, without breaking the skin itself. This stimulates collagen growth. Fraxel Re:Store is a non-ablative laser.

How Does Fraxel Laser work?

The Fraxel laser works by delivering microscopic columns of laser energy deep into the skin to target damaged cells while leaving surrounding tissue intact. Unlike traditional resurfacing lasers, this fractional laser resurfacing technique treats only a fraction of the skin at a time, allowing faster healing and minimal downtime. Each pulse of laser energy stimulates collagen production and skin renewal, effectively reducing acne scars, wrinkles, pigmentation, and sun damage. Through this process, thousands of microthermal zones stimulate controlled wound-healing to replace damaged tissue with healthy new skin.

Fraxel is available in non-ablative and ablative versions — the former works beneath the surface to stimulate collagen with little recovery time, while the latter resurfaces deeper damage for more dramatic results.

FAQ's About Fraxel® for Men

Fraxel is an Health Canada approved laser device dermatologists use treat the signs of aging in the skin, such as fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, and sun damage (or age) spots. Fraxel is a non-invasive, microscopic laser that penetrates your skin to encourage new collagen and elastin growth. Unlike aggressive lasers, Fraxel is a non-ablative fractional skin resurfacing treatment, which means it only targets a fraction of the skin at a time.

On average, though, the results of a Fraxel treatment last at least a year, but it varies wildly from patient to patient. Fraxel can repair some of the damage to your skin from severe acne scars or surgical scars, but it may be necessary to have a regular follow-up procedure every few years, depending on the severity of the original condition.

The ‘new’ Fraxel is not painful for most patients; a mild prickling sensation can be felt. A numbing gel is applied to the treatment area, so that the procedure is as painless as possible. Fraxel manages to achieve great results without being ablative, so you don’t get the discomfort, persistent burning sensation, hot spots or ‘crispy’ skin some describe with other laser treatments.

Fraxel for men is a non-invasive fractional laser treatment that can eliminate signs of aging and sun damage and reveal a brighter, clearer, and more even skin tone. It is an excellent option for men that have had considerable sun exposure and are bothered by pigmentary issues, unevenness, and dullness.

During the first two days, you can expect redness, throbbing, and swelling (like a sunburn), then between days three to five, your skin will start to roughen up and peel. You need to wait 2-3 weeks between treatments. Fraxel treatments typically come in a series, so when you see results depends on the number of treatments.

The Fraxel DUAL procedure takes relatively quickly —about 15 to 25 minutes—but expect to factor in at least another 45 minutes for the topical anesthesia (numbing cream) to kick in before getting started.

All of your skin care products should be non-irritating and non-clogging for the first week or so after a Fraxel treatment. If your skin feels tight or itchy, apply a non-comedogenic moisturizer liberally, as many times as needed.
