Under Eye Filler Before and After

SKIN VITALITY PROUDLY SERVING CANADIANS SINCE 1992

Traditional hyaluronic acid fillers are typically injected into static areas of the face to accentuate contour or facial features, but Teosyal® and RHA® products from the Swiss laboratory TEOXANE® are designed with the idea that your face is anything but static. Teosyal® Filler can plump lips and address wrinkles, under-eye hollows and scars.

Under Eye Filler Restores Volume to the Tear Trough

Dark circles or puffy eyes are caused by loss of volume or your basic anatomy (both of which can be hereditary) from under-eye wrinkles or dark circles caused by hyperpigmentation in the area. Under Eye Filler, also known as Tear Trough Filler, may be one of the few things that can actually change the appearance of your under-eye area. If you have this type of hollowness or loss of volume in that area, you might have dark circles or shadowing under your eyes.

About Traditional hyaluronic Acid Filers

Traditional hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers are typically injected into static areas of the face to accentuate contour or facial features, but Teosyal® and RHA® products from Swiss laboratory TEOXANE® are designed with the idea that a face is anything but static.

Under Eye FILLER Treatment

Under-eye filler treatments, often referred to as tear trough filler or under-eye rejuvenation, typically begin with a topical numbing cream to support comfort, although this step may not be necessary for every individual. The treatment area is then carefully mapped to guide placement.

A sterile, pre-packaged syringe containing hyaluronic acid filler is used during the procedure. One or more syringes may be required depending on the degree of hollowing and the treatment plan. The hyaluronic acid is placed between the bone and the fatty tissue in the tear trough area, allowing the product to sit beneath the surface without being visible. The filler is deposited using a fanning technique to support smooth transitions, followed by gentle massaging to help distribute the product evenly.

Under-eye filler should only be performed by regulated health-care professionals. Attempting to correct lumps, bumps, or unevenness at home can increase the risk of complications.

If any aspects of the under-eye filler results need refinement, adjustments can be made at a follow-up appointment—typically scheduled around two weeks after treatment. By this point, most initial swelling has subsided, allowing the medical team to assess the area accurately and determine whether additional smoothing or contour correction is needed. Individual results may vary.

How Does Under Eye Filler Work?

The optimal improvement with filler is when the face looks equally as good at rest as when in motion. TEOXANE® filler is more amenable to the moving face rather than the static one. It has a greater elasticity, like a rubber band, so it moves like the face does. Teosyal® can plump lips and address wrinkles, under-eye hollows and scars; while RHA® is best for the most mobile areas of the face like the cheeks, nasolabial folds and forehead.

The primary ingredient of Teosyal® injectable filler is hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance that loves water, which is perfect because your skin is made up of about 70% water! An injection  into the problem areas on your face introduces fresh HA into your skin.

Once injected, HA molecules bind with the naturally present water in your skin and each swells substantially. This swelling is what plumps up your skin to fill out those unwanted wrinkles, creases and noticeable hollows. This same effect is what also helps to modify facial contours that you want filled out, such as under eye hollows.

Another great effect of a Teosyal® injection is that it improves the overall moisture levels in your skin, something that older patients can definitely appreciate. Higher moisture levels means that your complexion will look more vibrant and healthier as well.

How Long Do Dermal Fillers Last?

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers usually last between 9-12 months, depending on the product used and your individual metabolism of the filler.
