How Does Juvéderm Make Lips Fuller?

As we get older, the elastin and collagen in our lips begin to break down. Coupled with a declining ability to retain appropriate moisture and a loss of essential natural fats at the cellular level, this causes the skin to lose its natural plumpness and elasticity. Our lips begin to show this sign of aging in much the same manner as the rest of our skin, by reducing in volume and wrinkling. The plumpness and full shape of younger lips eventually dissipates to the point that they begin to appear thin and unhealthy – one of the most obvious signs of aging.

Juvéderm is able to plump lips through the introduction of hyaluronic acid (a natural substance which is the primary component in Juvéderm™ formulation). Hyaluronic acid is able to absorb into a patient’s tissue, integrate itself at a cellular level and lead to the production of the fats necessary for full lips.
