4 Ways to Help Ease PMS

It’s that time of the month and everyone knows it. You’ve transformed into an irritable, cranky and bloated mess with bad skin. Are you tired of becoming a monster every month? You can alleviate your premenstrual symptoms by following these 3 tips:

1. Eat a healthier diet loaded with vegetables and fruit. The vitamins will have a great effect on your moods and overall health, plus many women find breakouts that can be treated with chemical peels are more controlled.

2.Eat less refined white flour and white rice. Whole wheat flour and brown rice are loaded with more nutrients than plain white, particularly B vitamins, magnesium and tryptophan. All help ease PMS by reducing bloating and improving your mood.

3. Exercise regularly. The effort you exert from exercising for extended periods of time at a moderate to intense level helps your body release endorphins, a chemical that has been called a natural feel good “drug”. This will have a positive effect on your mood, making you feel less negative and down. The magnesium in whole grains also has the same uplifting effect. And if you’ve got cramps, endorphins will help ease them – so it may be better to hit the gym rather than lying down.

4. Sleep at least 7-8 hours a night. Doing so will help your body operate better, keeping mood swings at a minimum and reducing stress levels.
