Food Intolerance and Weight Gain

Are you having trouble losing weight? You eat right and exercise regularly, CoolSculpting has helped, yet you still can’t get rid of those last excess pounds. What could be the problem?

You may want to take a look at your diet. If you suffer from bloating, fatigue, constipation and diarrhea, you may be eating food that your body can’t digest properly. Milk products, gluten and nuts are some common foods that people cannot tolerate. These and a variety of other foods may cause symptoms that lead to weight gain, particularly when caused by water retention. Skin problems, most notably eczema, may also be related to food intolerance.

To treat this problem, monitor your diet to see if your condition worsens after you eat or drink specific things (you can start with dairy and gluten since they’re the most common culprits). Then eliminate the suspected offending item(s) to see if you improve. You should also visit your doctor who can refer you to a gastroenterologist (a doctor specializing in the digestive system). A gastroenterologist can examine and assess your situation better and help you improve your diet so that’s free of foods your body cannot tolerate. Changing your diet may help elimiate those extra pounds you just can’t get rid of.
