3 Tips For Sensitive Skincare

Sensitive skin is prone to redness, irritation and inflammation when it’s not being treated right. Those of us who have sensitive skin know all too well how reactive it is to changes in not only new products, but also to the environment, lifestyle and hormones. While a chemical peel in Toronto can help improve the complexion, remember these 3 tips you can do day-to-day in order to help keep irritation and redness under control:

1. Avoid heavily fragranced products and makeup like the plague! Added perfumes are the primary source of negative reactions, so even though something smells nice, your skin may not think so.

2. Spot test before you buy. Make sure your skin is okay with the product by testing it out before you buy (if possible). Do a spot test and wait up to 2 days to see if your skin reacts negatively. If nothing happens in the tested skin, then it’s most likely alright to use.

3. Don’t use freezing cold or boiling hot water when you wash. Cool to lukewarm water is best since sensitive skin can be irritating.
