3 Sensitive Skin Musts Before a Botox Injection

When it comes to a Toronto BOTOX® treatment, one of the biggest concerns of our patients who have sensitive skin is whether treatment will be suitable. They’re not sure if they should proceed with treatment because it may irritate their skin, but this shouldn’t be a concern. BOTOX® is perfectly suitable for any skin type or tone, including the most sensitive and dark. All you really have to do is adequately prepare the target area prior to treatment. Preparation helps reduce the side effects of the injection, such as bruising, swelling and redness.

3 things you can do before the procedure are:

1. Numb the area with a topical anesthetic. Usually, this is in the form of lidocaine, or any other product that is recommended by our injector.

2. Apply a cold gel pack. This helps reduce bruising.

3. Use sunscreen before and after the procedure. Because an injection will be made, you want your skin to be as healthy as possible and damage caused by UV exposure certainly won’t help.

Sensitive skin isn’t a good enough reason why you can’t experience the wrinkle-smoothing benefits of BOTOX®.
