Skin Vitality recommends following the pre-treatment instructions outlined below to achieve and maintain the best results possible. Select your treatment to see the pre-care guidelines for your upcoming appointment.
What to Do Before Your Botox Treatment
In The Days Before Treatment
- Stay well hydrated and maintain your normal diet in the days leading up to your appointment
- Inform our team of any medications, supplements, or medical conditions
- Let your provider know if you have a vaccination or dermal filler scheduled, as Botox should not be received within 2 weeks of these appointments
- The following items should be avoided for a minimum of 24-48 hours prior to your appointment: advil, alcohol, anti-inflammatory medication, coumadin, fish oils (including eating fish!), flax seed, capsulated garlic or ginko bilboa, green tea, omega 3s (including eating eggs!), and Vitamin E
- Alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment
- This will help to minimize the chances of bruising and swelling post injections
Botox Treatment Day Instructions
- Arrive with a clean, makeup-free face
- Eat a light meal and stay hydrated before your appointment
- Avoid vigorous exercise on the day of treatment
- Let your provider know of any active skin irritation, cold sores, or illness in the treatment area
What to Expect at Your Botox Appointment
- The treatment typically takes 15–30 minutes
- Results begin to appear within 3–5 days and will be fully visible within 2 weeks

What to Do Before Your CoolSculpting Treatment
In The Days Before Treatment
- Maintain normal hydration levels in the days leading up to treatment
- Continue regular eating habits unless otherwise advised
- Inform our team of any medical conditions or recent changes in health
- Ensure there are no active skin conditions, irritation, or sensitivities in the treatment area
- Applying lotions, oils, or topical products to the treatment area on the day of the appointment
- Tight or restrictive clothing that may interfere with applicator placement
- Heavy alcohol intake the day before, as it may contribute to dehydration
CoolSculpting Treatment Day Instructions
- Eat a light meal and stay hydrated before your appointment
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing and underwear you do not mind getting treatment gel on.
- Consider bringing a change of clothes, just in case.
- Be prepared to have photos taken of the targeted area before your session. Photos are taken before and after your treatment, so you can easily see the improvement once you return for your month follow up.
What to Expect at Your CoolSculpting Appointment
- Treatment time will vary depending on the area, typically ranging from 35 mins to over an hour per cycle
- A cooling sensation followed by numbness in the area is commonly experienced during treatment
- Changes may begin to appear gradually over several weeks as the body processes treated fat cells
- Individual results may vary based on factors such as body composition and lifestyle
What to Do Before Your Dermal Filler Treatment
In The Days Before Treatment
- Stay well hydrated and maintain your normal diet in the days leading up to your appointment
- Inform our team of any medications, supplements, or medical conditions
- Let your provider know if you have a vaccination scheduled, as Filler should not be received within the same 2 weeks as a vaccine
- The following items should be avoided for a minimum of 24-48 hours prior to your appointment: advil, alcohol, anti-inflammatory medication, coumadin, fish oils (including eating fish!), flax seed, capsulated garlic or ginko bilboa, green tea, omega 3s (including eating eggs!), and Vitamin E

What to Do Before Your Morpheus8 Treatment
Weeks Leading Up to Treatment
- No topical steroid on/near treatment area 2 weeks before.
- No antibiotics for at least 2 weeks after the last dose has been taken.
- Please wait a minimum of 2 weeks after having any other facial treatment to have Morpheus8.
- Please do your best to avoid sun exposure 2-4 weeks prior to treatment. There must be no tan to the area we are treating. Tanning includes direct sun exposure, self-tanners and spray tans.
- ***Note: If you have been instructed to use Corrector 2, please stop now. ***
- Active ingredients in the area being treated should be stopped now.
- Active ingredients include, but are not limited to: Vitamin R, Retinol, bleaching creams, toners, glycolic acid, any serums, prescription creams, etc.
- Please ensure the treatment area is shaved; preferable 24 hours before your scheduled treatment.
- Limit your alcohol intake at least 24 hours before your treatment.
- If possible, it is best to avoid any medications that may prolong bleeding, such as aspirin, Advil and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs), for at least 24-48 hours prior to receiving treatment.
Additional Morpheus8 Pre Care Instructions
The majority (not all) of our Morpheus8 patients are required to follow a pre-treatment regimen for a full 2 weeks prior to their treatment. If you require pre-treatment before your Morpheus8 appointment, your technician would have informed you at the time of the consultation.
Our pre-treatment protocol entails the topical application of a hydroquinone-based product (i.e. Vivier Corrector 2 – 2% HQ) twice daily, both morning and night for 2 weeks. Sunscreen must be used in conjunction with use of the Corrector 2, as this product is photosensitive.

- A topical numbing cream is usually applied beforehand for comfort
- Mild warmth or pressure may be felt during treatment
