Exercise and dieting can only do so much, and it won’t have the positive impact on saggy skin you want. Saggy body contours can be eliminated with a Toronto Body Lift, a cosmetic surgical procedure that removes lax skin and tissue. The surgery is designed for sagging, bagging and serious creases and folds that may have been caused by aging, pregnancy and dramatic weight loss.
Reshape your body
A Body Lift is technically referred to as a belt lipectomy. The procedure involves raising and reshaping contours that are sagging and thus unsightly. A Body Lift removes excess skin that is loose and any attached excess fat that is unwanted to achieve a smoother body contour that is more youthful in appearance and better proportioned. While the procedure can be performed on portions of the upper and lower body, you may choose to have only one area targeted, such as the lower torso, upper legs, buttocks and arms – it’s up to you. Your Body Lift may also involve liposuction, which will be used to help remove unwanted fat.
Why you would want a body lift:
Men and women of a vast age range undergo a Body Lift. Here are some reasons why you may consider undergoing the procedure as well:
- It can reshape your body contour to achieve the look you want.
- It eliminates sagging skin and excess fat that may have been caused by a number of factors.
- It can eliminate the saggy skin you can’t get rid of through exercise and diet alone.
- It can rejuvenate the body contour, particularly after multiple pregnancies or massive weight loss.
Because a Body Lift can target a number of different areas and body types, the exact procedure varies according to the needs of each patient. Generally, however, you can expect the surgery to include the placement of incisions strategically placed in your target area (so that the resulting scar is barely noticeable). An incision may be made in the upper and/or inner thigh right up to the waistline, or, if there is more extensive correction, the incision may continue around the waist and lower back completely. An incision is placed in the crease of the buttocks if this area is targeted. Any excess skin is removed, along with the underlying fat deposit if applicable, and then the remaining skin is sutured. Depending on how much correction you desire, surgery takes anywhere from 3 to 7 hours and is performed under general anesthesia.
Right after your surgery, bandages are applied and tubing may be placed to drain any excess fluids. You’ll most likely need to get plenty of rest and limit your movement to facilitate healing and recovery. Oral medication may be taken to reduce discomfort.
