Top 5 Healthy Snacks on the Go!


With the New Year in tow it can be quite challenging to stay healthy and keep those New Year’s Resolutions. Here are some quick easy tips to kick that binge eating by filling your fridge and diet with healthy snacks.

1. Vegetables and Dip

This is my all-time favourite snack. Slice up some cucumbers and grab some hummus,  tzatziki, spinach, or roasted red pepper dip. You can use any vegetable for this including red peppers, celery, mini tomatoes, etc.


2. Fruit

My favourite way to get more fruit in my diet is to eat grapes! I actually freeze them and like them better frozen. It slows you down on eating them quick because they are cold, and therefore you eat less. I always grab a banana and an apple in the morning and to get them down I will add some peanut butter or sunflower butter.

3. Yoghurt

Greek yoghurt 0% fat is one of the best things for you! I love the blood orange, coconut, and black cherry flavours. I always try to have one mid-morning before lunch. Feel free to add fresh fruit or granola to it.


4. Nuts

Grab a handful of almonds, cashews (unsalted) and you are good to go! Even better is trail mix as long as you stay away from the sweet additives like chocolate chips

5. Protein Shake

A protein shake is the best way to fill up that stomach on the go. In the morning I make one with Almond Milk (Unsweetened), banana, chocolate whey powder, and flax seed. Delicious and nutritious! Ideal Protein has lots of great options for protein shakes and snacks.
