Toronto FotoFacial™ Rejuvenation treatment is able to address a number of common skin problems easily but not everyone is suited to it. Before you begin to seriously consider FotoFacial™ for your skin improvement needs, it's worth looking into what makes for an ideal or non-ideal candidate for the procedure.

The Ideal FotoFacial™ Candidate

FotoFacial™ is a good treatment option for a relatively wide range of people. Men and women of any skin tone are ideal candidates and age offers few restrictions as well. A good FotoFacial™ candidate is someone who is looking to resolve problems that fall within the treatment's scope.

It's important to know what to expect from any procedure in order to maintain realistic expectations. FotoFacial™ treatments are able to reduce or eliminate common skin problems that include facial spider veins, rosacea, age spots (or brown spots), fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores or oil glands, and abnormal skin pigmentation.

Take the time to outline exactly what type of skin improvement you're hoping for when you meet with a cosmetic physician in consultation. They're the experts and can help you to know what to expect from your procedure. A good candidate is patient enough to wait for results and is willing to undergo follow-up treatments.

The Non-Ideal FotoFacial™ Candidate

FotoFacial™ treatments aren't a good option for some patients however. Certain physical attributes can, unfortunately, make someone a non-ideal candidate. Since the procedure uses light-based energy to treat the skin, pigmentation plays a large role in achieving desired results. For much the same reason, people that are allergic or extremely sensitive to light (this includes blood disorders like porphyria) are advised not to undergo FotoFacial™ treatment.

FotoFacial™ isn't appropriate for pregnant women, people currently on Accutane, or patients that hope to use the procedure as a method for reducing the appearance of very deep scarring and/or wrinkling, severe acne or other profound skin conditions. If you have a tendency for developing thick or dangerous scarring, suffer from lupus or have unrealistic expectations regarding what Toronto FotoFacial™ Rejuvenation is capable of improving, you should also consider a different skin improvement treatment.
