As president of Skin Vitality/A Natural Advantage Medical Clinics, Eleanor Welsh’s business success mirrors her own personal success when she first started in the weight loss industry over 20 years ago.

Eleanor believed in the benefits of the clinic’s program so much that she bought it. Since then, Eleanor has made it her life’s work to help clients achieve their overall health and beauty needs and goals.

ELEANOR WELSH – HER OWN STORY IN HER OWN WORDS

Over 20 years ago, I was 30 pounds overweight and felt unhealthy, unmotivated and unattractive. It was easy for me to focus on the negative parts of my life instead of the positive. It was at that time I made the decision to reshape my life by losing the weight in a healthy manner.

Now, over 20 years later, I have kept the weight off and have never looked back. To take it one step further, in order to look and feel my best at any age I now use many of the non-invasive medical services I offer at my clinics to fight the aging process. I have personally never felt or looked better and I am now in my forties.

After years of research about the different technology available today for non-invasive, cosmetic improvement, I made the decision to treat patients with Elos technology in all of my locations. I am proud to offer the best technology available in the world today.

I understand that the decision to improve your appearance is an important one. My goal is to provide you with as much information as possible in a comfortable, supportive environment. I also understand that for a lot of my clients it is the first time they are putting their own needs and desires ahead of others. Medical/Professional Staff

Dr. Lori Martyn
Dr. Lori Martyn graduated from Queens University and has been a practicing physician for over 19 years. After working as an Emergency Room Physician and Operating Assistant, Dr. Martyn turned to family practice, developing an interest in minor surgical, cosmetic and aesthetic procedures. She currently specializes in Botox, cosmetic injectable treatments, chemical peels, sclerotherapy and minor surgical procedures such as mole and wart removal. Dr. Martyn has received extensive training in Botox injection techniques with Allergan (Botox and Juvederm injectable filler). She has also received injection technique training with vascular surgeon Dr. David Szalay, along with training from Medicis (Restylane and Perlane), Canderm (Radiesse and Evolence), and MD Medical (Esthelis and Fortelis). She is fully certified in Mesotherapy (fat reduction injections), medical grade Chemical Peels (Vivier) and many photo facial and skin rejuvenation procedures. She is an active member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, The Canadian Medical Association, and the Ontario Medical Association.

Dr. Mahmood Kara, Plastic Surgeon, MD, FRCSC, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
Dr. Mahmood Kara, one of Canada’s leading Cosmetic Plastic Surgeons has been at the forefront of introducing and developing new surgical and medical techniques. Dr. Kara is currently one of the only Plastic Surgeons in Ontario specializing in The 24 Hour Recovery Breast Augmentation Technique.
Dr. Kara was trained in the Specialty field of Plastic Surgery at the University of Western Ontario Medical Faculty. He was awarded the Irving Heward Cameron Gold Medal of Surgery for being first place in his class. Dr. Kara is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada as well as a member of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Kara recently received a certificate from the Mentor Corporation for being one of the top five surgeons in Ontario for Breast Augmentation.
Dr. Kara has an active practice in plastic, reconstructive and emphasizes in Cosmetic surgery. Our surgical facility is certified by the Canadian Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, INC

Lori Pollock, RN
Lori Pollock is one of the most recognized nurses in Canada, specializing in injectable fillers. She is also Skin Vitality Medical Clinic's patient consultant. Lori graduated in 1986 from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. As the former technical consultant of Q-Med Canada Inc (The Swedish based manufacturer of Restylane®) and Juvederm®, she has achieved a level of technical expertise that allows her to train Plastic Surgeons, General Practitioners, Dermatologists and Nurses from around the world on injection techniques. Lori is certified as a BOTOX® trainer in both Canada and the U.S. She provides training for injectable fillers, BOTOX® , laser procedures, and peels. As a member of the Registered Nurses Association Of Ontario, the College of Nurses of Ontario, and a former member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery Nurses, she has made television appearances on CHTV and CTV, where she discussed the growth in popularity of injectables in Canada, and assisted with an injection during a live broadcast. She has also appeared on CBC's the Gill Deacon Show and on the radio, she was interviewed on 1050 Chum.

Angie Taplin, RN
Angie Taplin is a Registered Nurse that has been working in the cosmetic and plastic surgery industry for over 12 years.
She specializes in facial contouring and rejuvenation using innovative injectibles and skin care procedures.
Angie uses her technique and experiences to educate physicians and fellow nurses in the use of various injectible fillers.

Melissa Cardoza, RN
Melissa Cardoza graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Science Nursing with Honours. Melissa has traveled to Arizona to work in Critical Care at one of the most recognized and distinguished hospitals in the United States, UMC (University Medical Centre). Melissa decided to focus her talents on Cosmetic Injections and received extensive training in the States. Once returning to Canada, Melissa fine tuned her skills by attending many workshops offered by Allergan, Canderm & Manon Duval Medical. At Skin Vitality Melissa is a Medical Consultant that specializes in Cosmetic Injections such as Botox, Juvederm, Radiesse, Esthelis, Mesolis & Fortelis. Melissa is also a proud member of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario, The College of Nurses of Ontario, The Arizona State board of Nursing and the Florida Board of Nursing. She has certificates in BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and Critical Care Nursing.

Ellenica Hicks, RN
Ellenica Hicks graduated nursing in 1995 and is currently a member of the College of Nurses and Registered Nurses Association of Ontario. Ellenica was certified in Nephrology in 1998 and has over 12 years experience in nephrology nursing. Ellenica decided to focus her artistic talents in Cosmetic Nursing and has received extensive training from Allergan in Botox Procedures and Juvederm Injections. She is a natural at performing Soft Lift treatments by producing a subtle lift with injectibles to achieve a natural fresh look with her patients.

Sherline Anderson, RN
Sherline Anderson is a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Over the past decade, she has worked in many different areas of nursing including Community, Management specializing in Neuro and Ortho Rehabilitation. Sherline learned the art & science of injecting Botox from its creators Allergan. Sherline is proficient with the various types of fillers and is current with all the latest techniques to add volume to the mid-face, the newest trick to maintain a youthful look. Achieving overall refreshed skin doesn't just lie in smoothing one wrinkle or filling in one fold. Now, leading Canadian skin experts are saying the next facial beauty trend lies within the cheeks. Sherline's treatments will bring out the positive features of your face without looking like you have had anything done. Less is more is Sherline's motto.

Narda Williams, RN
Narda Williams graduated from the nursing program from Humber College in 2000. Immediately, Narda started at the Toronto General Hospital in the Peritoneal Dialysis unit. She became certified as PD Nurse gaining lots of experience working with patients who had experienced kidney failure. Narda began to develop an interest in organ transplants and transferred to the organ trasplant unit at Toronto General Hospital then went on to areas such as Beriatic Nursing, Geriatric and Community Nursing.
Narda found that women don't mind getting older; but what they don't want is to look older. As a result, she began to feel compelled to help women look their best at any age and started performing Botox procedures. She found that most women loved Juvederm injections as it helped them to regain the lost volume in their face that naturally occurs with aging. Narda has recieved training from Allergan for Botox Injections, Juvederm Injections and specializes in Soft Lift Treatments. She loves to create results that are natural looking --addressing multiple signs of aging on the whole face.

Val McCutcheon, RN
Val McCutcheon graduated Nursing in 1995 and is currently a member of the College of Nurses. Val was certified in Occupational Health Nursing in 2005 and has experience in psychiatric nursing, community nursing and disability management. Val is very excited about the art of Cosmetic Nursing and has received extensive training from Allergan in Botox Procedures and Juvederm Injections. She believes that “a little improvement goes a long way” and shares her excitement and information about the latest techniques and technology with her patients.

Laser Specialists
All of our laser specialists are certified Medical Estheticians. Currently, our team consists of over 20 specialists and we continue to add valuable knowledgeable staff to our team daily. Our team of specialists all come with many years of experience. They are all certified in Fotofacial RF and attend training seminars all over the world regularly to keep skills current and to be the most highly efficient specialists available in the marketplace today.

RMT
This service is only offered in our Ajax location. Our registered massage therapy department is the largest in Durham and consists of over 10 RMT massage therapists. Most treatments are covered by extended health care.
